Being Vigilant

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be vigilant. The dictionary defines the word vigilant as to be carefully observant or attentive. The true follower of Christ is sensitive to what God’s Word has to say and is vigilant in the process of continually seeking Him. The Holy Spirit gives us the amazing ability to truly understand our reason and our purpose for being here. Even with this understanding, there is so much that we need to learn and experience about Him and who He is. We are to study God’s Word on our own private time with a prayerful and humble desire for understanding. In studying the scriptures we can verify the teachings of those we listen to as confirmation of God’s Word in our lives (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21).
